  • How do I get to the event?

    Public Transport is the easiest way to travel to the event with Newcastle University (Warabrook) station being a short 5 minute walk to the event. Please use Trip Planner when planning your travel to and from the event. 

    The train station on the Callaghan campus is called Warabrook (University) station. The train station is located at the back of the campus behind the Forum Sports and Aquatic Centre and Oval 3.

    Will there be parking available?

    There is limited parking on the University Campus

    Is cash accepted?

    This is a cashless event. 

    Will there be a cloakroom at the festival? 

    There will not be a cloakroom at the event. Please see the list of prohibited items below. 

    PROHIBITED ITEMS

    THE ORGANISERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY TO PEOPLE CARRYING ANY OF THE ITEMS LISTED BELOW

    The following restricted or prohibited items are not permitted by patrons into the event: 

    Illicit drugs; 

    BYO alcohol; 

    Glass. No glass is allowed; 

    Anything that may reasonably be considered a weapon, including potential missiles or studded belts; 

    Professional photo or video equipment. Anything with a detachable lens. 

    Animals (other than registered guide dogs); 

    Flares, fireworks or sparklers; 

    Lasers or laser pointers; 

    Professional recording or broadcast devices without the promoter’s permission; 

    Flags with poles, large flags or banners that may obstruct the view of other patrons; 

    Any item that you intend (or such quantities of the item from which management can reasonably infer that you intend) to distribute, hawk, sell, offer, expose for sale or display for marketing or promotional purposes; 

    Any other items as determined by Security or Management that may cause injury or public nuisance; and 

    Roll on, spray, cream deodorant or perfume are not permitted into the festival

    Sealed drink containers.

    Large flashlights or torches

    Food products of a commercial quantity;  with broken or tampered manufactures seal ; fruit or self prepared food. Security reserves the right to not allow food products into the event. 

    Animals are not permitted except guide dogs and other registered assistance dogs

    Do I have to wear a wristband?

    Yes. Wristbands must be worn at all times, if you are found in the event without a wristband you will be ejected. 

    Will pass outs be available on the day?

    No. There are no passouts. 

    Do I have to wear shoes to the event?

    Enclosed shoes must be worn. 

    Where is lost and found?

    All Lost Property items will be collected and managed at the front gate, our staff are here to help. 

    Does the event have accessible facilities?

    Yes. There will be accessible entry, amenities and a viewing platform. 

    Will there be First Aid or Medical Services at the event?

    Yes. There will be medical services at the event. If you or your buddy requires medical assistance please visit the medical tent. 

    Can I bring my prescribed medication into the event? How do I ensure this won’t be confiscated?

    Yes you can bring your own prescribed medication into the venue as long as you meet the below requirements:  

    You carry a letter from your doctor detailing what the medicine is, how much you need to take and stating the medicine is for personal use 

    It is in its original packaging with the pharmacy and prescription label and can be easily identified

    Psychotropic medications (such as those used to treat anxiety, depression and insomnia) may be carried if there is no more than 1 days’ worth of the drug and provided it does not exceed the amount that was prescribed by the treating physician 

    You must declare medication on entry to the event or prior to the event via the Event Medical Management team 

    The medication details must be made out in English

    Can I access water on site? Will there be free water refill stations and where are they located?

    Yes, free water will be available at the event and will be located at the bar. Remember to stay hydrated!

    Can I bring a camera into the festival? What kind of camera and recording devices can I bring with me?

    Yes you can bring a camera into the event, however professional photo or video equipment, or anything with a detachable lens will not be allowed into the event. 

    Can I bring a water bottle into the festival?

    Yes you can bring an empty, clear plastic reusable bottle into the event. 

    Can I bring my own alcohol into the event? Are liquids allowed?

    No. BYO alcohol or liquids are not allowed into the event. 

    Can I bring food into the event? What if I have food allergies/dietary requirements? 

    No but don’t worry we’ve got you covered! There will be plenty of food options available for all dietary requirements.

    Will I be able to charge my phone? Can I bring a portable charger into the festival?

    Charging facilities will not be available at the event. 

    Can I smoke in the festival? 

    Smoking is not permitted within 4 metres of food consumption areas. 

    Will there be shade?

    Yes there will be shade at the event as the show is now indoors, there will be a beer garden & outside facilities available for you to enjoy as well.

    Will there be merch for sale?

    Yes

    Will there be a police presence at the event? 

    Yes there will be a police presence at the event. 

    What should I do in the case of an emergency?

    Our staff are here to help you. In the event of an emergency please notify one of our event staff and they will further assist you. 

    If I feel unsafe or unwell at the event who should I talk to?

    If you in any way feel unsafe please notify one of our staff and they will further assist you. If you feel unwell please visit the medical tent. 

    Can I bring my guide dog?

    Yes. Guide Dogs and other registered assistance dogs are allowed into the event. 

    Will there be road closures or any other impacts on the local community because of the event?

    No there will be no road closures affecting this event. We are located inside the University of Newcastle.

    What size bag can I bring?

    Bags over the size of A4 will not be allowed into the event. 

    Will I be searched upon entry?

    Yes. Bag searches will be conducted for all patrons. 

    Where is the entrance to the event?

    The entrance to the event is located at the side of Bar on the Hill off Ring Rd

    Yes, this is a street party. Saywell Street, Marrickville NSW 2204 will be closed from 17:00 Friday 29-September > 06:00 Tuesday 03-October.

    Yes, free sunscreen will be available at the medical tent.

    Bags over the size of A4 will not be allowed into the event.

    The entrance to the event is located on Saywell Street (Fitzroy Street end).
